The "Coffee & Vanilla' drama series was based on the long-running manga series. The original manga was serialized for the first time in 2015.

It follows the story of Shiroki Risa a lovely young university student who grew up in the countryside but has relocated to Tokyo to finish her studies. She has had numerous male admirers and hopes of finding true love but no one has ever grabbed her fancy. All male students swoon over her in university but she is unimpressed by them all. When she meets Fukami Hiroto, a dashing, courageous foreigner who works in the business world, her life changes quickly.
