Foundation & History of Kakao TV
KakaoTV made its official debut on June 16, 2015. Initially, it functioned as a website comparable to Naver TV, providing streaming broadcasts from affiliated or contracted broadcasters.
On February 18, 2017, Daum tvPot was merged into KakaoTV. A survey of 7,426 online video streaming users in 2017 revealed that KakaoTV captured only 1.8% of the streaming video viewer market.
